Top Richest Men in the World
1) Bill Gates
That name you have probably heard many, many times. Bill
Gates is a recurring figure on the lists of the world's biggest billionaires.
The founder of Microsoft is at the top of this list with a fortune of about
US$86 billion.
He is no longer the president of the company he founded but
still owns 5% of the company's stocks. He also invests in stocks from other
ventures like resorts and even the famous brand of soft drinks Coca-Cola.
With so much money in the account, he learned to share with
those who need it most. Gates and his wife Melinda have created a foundation
that has already donated tens of billions of dollars for social and
humanitarian causes.
2) Warren Buffett
The second person placed on this list has about US$75.6
billion in the portfolio. Strangely enough, he did not create a business
empire. In that case, he did what many people dream of: making money by
investing.
Buffett was popularly known as the Oracle of Omaha due to
its keen knowledge about the Financial Market. Knowing how and where to invest
money on the Stock Exchange is an activity that he knows how to do very well.
Currently over 80, he continues to work with investments.
Its holding company Berkshire Hathaway works with stocks of major
infrastructure companies such as gas and energy sector.
He also uses his power to help others, including donating
money to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Warren Buffett has warned that
when he dies, more than 80 percent of his fortune will go to humanitarian aid
institutions.
3) Jeff Bezos
You already shopped in Amazon, right? So you've helped in a
way increase the value Jeff has on the bank. He founded one of the largest
shopping sites on the planet and, for that, he accumulates a fortune of US$72.8
billion.
In addition to being CEO of Amazon.com, Bezos has also
acquired other digital companies such as Alexa Internet, IMDb (Internet Movie
Database) and A9.com.
4) Amancio Ortega
The Spanish owner of the Zara brand won the fourth place as
the richest man in the world by amassing a considerable amount: approximately
US$71.3 billion. His fortune is so impressive that few years ago Ortega already
managed to take first place on this list.
If you think that the whole fortune of the Spanish comes
from the clothing brand, you are mistaken. Amancio Ortega also has other
businesses within the textile and real estate industry. Like Warren Buffett, he
also has great interest in investments, so much is that most of his wealth is
tied to stock market applications.
5) Mark Zuckerberg
Anyone who does not have a Facebook account may feel like a
stranger in the crowd. And with a good reason: the social network has almost 2
billion users currently registered! It is no wonder that one of its founders is
in fifth place in this ranking.
In 2004, Mark Zuckerberg helped create Facebook when he was
only 19 years old. Thirteen years later, he has a fortune estimated at US$56
billion. Pretty impressive right?
Facebook has become so successful that its shares are traded
on the Stock Exchange, a privilege of solid companies with good chances of
growth. He remains so keen to build services that combine social life and
technology that acquired WhatsApp and Instagram companies.
Did you see how these people have very familiar
characteristics? They went after what they dreamed and managed to win a place
on the podium of the richest in the world. If you believe that getting there
would be impossible,
at least keep in mind that success can only be achieved if you really strive.
